Matrices A such that AA+ - A+A are nonsingular

In this paper we study the class of square matrices A such that AA − AA is nonsingular, where A stands for the Moore–Penrose inverse of A. Among several characterizations we prove that for a matrix A of order n, the difference AA−AA is nonsingular if and only if R(A) ⊕ R(A) = Cn,1, where R(·) denotes the range space. Also we study matrices A such that R(A) = R(A).

Alcohol Policy Development: A Case of I. R. of Iran

The harmful use of alcohol causes an estimated 2.5 million deaths every year, of which a significant proportion occur in the young. Alcohol use is the third leading risk factor for poor health globally. In response to harmful use of alcohol, World Health Organization developed a global strategy to reduce the harmful use of alcohol endorsed by the Sixty-third World Health Assembly in 2010. Paral...

Quantized Rank R Matrices

First some old as well as new results about P.I. algebras, Ore extensions, and degrees are presented. Then quantized n × r matrices as well as certain quantized factor algebras M q (n) of Mq(n) are analyzed. For r = 1, . . . , n − 1, M q (n) is the quantized function algebra of rank r matrices obtained by working modulo the ideal generated by all (r+1)×(r+1) quantum subdeterminants and a certai...

R-matrices in Rime

We replace the ice Ansatz on matrix solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation by a weaker condition which we call rime. Rime solutions include the standard Drinfeld–Jimbo R-matrix. Solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation within the rime Ansatz which are maximally different from the standard one we call strict rime. A strict rime non-unitary solution is parameterized by a projective vector ~ φ. We sho...

r-Indecomposable and r-Nearly Decomposable Matrices

Let n, r be integers with 0 ≤ r ≤ n− 1. An n×n matrix A is called r-partly decomposable if it contains a k×l zero submatrix with k+l = n−r+1. A matrix which is not r-partly decomposable is called r-indecomposable (shortly, r-inde). Let Eij be the n × n matrix with a 1 in the (i, j) position and 0’s elsewhere. If A is r-indecomposable and, for each aij 6= 0, the matrix ∗Research supported by Nat...
